This little bowl was turned from a piece of beech that was destined for the fire. The wood wasn’t perfect—full of blemishes and fine cracks—but that’s exactly what caught my eye. It lay on the table for a while, as if waiting for its chance to become something more than just a piece of wood.

I turned it slowly, with care, to preserve its character in every irregularity and color variation. The flaws that might be seen as defects in other hands are what make it unique here, giving it a sense of life. The bowl is delicate yet tough, like wood meant to endure. Perfect for jewelry—small but soulful—bearing the traces of what has been, ready for what will be.
