In my garden grows a horse chestnut tree - old, sprawling, full of character. Over time it began to block the light, spreading wide, peeking into the windows. It had to be pruned, with a touch of regret but also with the thought that nothing should go to waste. I kept one of the thicker pieces.

It lay for months in the corner of the workshop - the wood slowly deepening, hardening, cracking slightly on the surface, as if telling the story of what it had witnessed over the years. Then one day I took it into the studio. I turned it slowly, layer by layer, as if rediscovering the tree anew - its lifelines, its secrets.

That’s how this vase came to be, warm to the touch, with space for flowers and for memories.

All cracks and imperfections visible on the vases are their unique feature, characteristic of the natural material that is wood.
